
Vacation in Ibague, an agricultura and musical city
The recognition of Ibague, as the Colombian musical capital, dates back to 1886 when the French count Gabriac, gives the city this name impressed by the musical atmosphere, and the beautiful relationship between the people of Ibague and the everyday event of music.
Ibague annually hosts the National Festival of Colombian Music and the National Contest of Duets "Principes de la canción" (prince of song) which have been declared Cultural Heritage. These events reunite the best of the national folklore and where bambucos, pasillos, guabinas, rajaleñas, and other Colombian Andean rhythms entertain those attending the Garzón y Collazos Bandshell.
As the capital of Tolima, Ibague has a great importance, because this region is one of the most important agricultural reserves of the country, given their high production in rice, cotton and fruit.
The amazing cuisine
Because of the great variety of agricultural production of the region, Ibague offers visitors a wide variety of traditional food that are a delight to the palate: tamales, envueltos, lechona, pescados, insulsos, just to name a few from the best gastronomic menu of the region.
